Luke has finished his first book and the second is still to go (Acts of the Apostles)
Obviously Luke's first book was written in light of the events that he talks about in his second book.
It is in his second book that Luke carries on his key themes.
He has to deal with the crisis of narrowness which can distort a Judaic type, Law-based society.
He tackles the problem of a "loud voice" which can distort a Graeco-Roman, Order-based society.
Both themes appear in the last paragraphs of his gospel.

The second book of Luke not only describes the gradual establishment of the early Church.
It also sets out the conceptual framework from which the final gospel, that of John, will be later written.

Luke's gospel talks about the gradual move of a community to Jerusalem.
His next book will talk about the factors causing the now hybrid community to move its base to Rome - centre of the known world.
